Circo Ridiculoso is a part of my business producing Family Theatre shows performed at theatres, art centres and other lovely venues. We perform Children’s Theatre shows in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. We have also performed Family Theatre shows in Europe and North America.

Danny Schlesinger is the creator, producer and performer with Circo Ridiculoso. He has worked with Theatre Rites in the critically acclaimed site specific show “Bank On It” both in London and Coventry. He has worked with (among many) The Royal Opera, Natural Theatre Company, Circus Sensible and Dynamic New Animations. Danny’s film and TV credits include Homer Simpson for an advert on Sky One. Danny was also the lead character in “Sniffer” – a Norwegian short film which won several awards including the best short film at Cannes 2006. He has also performed on “The Slammer” a BBC children’s variety show.

Circo Ridiculoso has produced three theatre shows so far, “Lighter Than Air”“The Balloon Gardener” and “Three Little Pigs”. There is a wonderful team of a director, sound, lighting and set designers, photographer and videographer behind creating each show which varies depending on commitments and availability. Helena at Richardson PRM is the tour booker for all the theatre shows and does a fantastic job booking shows both around the UK and Internationally too.

Circo Ridiculoso has won awards for innovative balloon shows “International Twister of the year 2011”, The Dewey Award for Excellence in the art of balloon twisting & innovative balloon entertainment. Circo Ridiculoso has won the Jury prize (voted by the children) at Porto Sant ‘Elpidio International Children’s’ Theatre festival, Italy. Frankenstein For Kids

When Igor, Dr Frankenstein’s assistant, attempts to assemble a beautiful dancer made from balloons, it all goes terribly wrong. Following a plan is not as easy as it looks.

Dr Frankenstein is furious – his lifetime dream of winning the highly-coveted North Southby Dance Competition Cup is fading fast and he is ready to burst!

A marvellous monster is created and comes alive! Can Igor teach the friendly monster to dance in time? Will Dr Frankenstein be triumphant and win the cup?

In Circo Ridiculoso’s unique style, a story is adapted and mutated from horror to ha ha ha, from the dark and spooky to the light and airy. So why not step into the quirky tale of “Frankenstein For  Kids” – a hilarious fusion of silliness, unscientific storytelling and monstrous balloon puppetry.

Frankenstein For Kids is Circo Ridiculoso’s fourth family show and previous shows have had wonderful reviews from kids, parents and the press alike.

Original sketches and comic silliness are what make this show worth watching….This is simple, light-hearted entertainment that leaves the audience feeling as buoyant as any of Schlesinger’s  inflatable creations.

Fest Magazine **** On “Lighter Than Air”

Danny is clearly a skilled performer with warm engaging personality and children really watch him. “Three Little Pigs” kept everyone rapt and the hearty applause at the end was genuine.

Haverhill Weekly News

“Circo Ridiculoso knows how to crack a smile on any glum audience by his balloon manipulating skills.”

Jake Orr,

“Danny Schlesinger is a master of his art. He has his young (and not so young) audiences totally enthralled and giggling within seconds – with no words, just a cheeky, expressive face, and a few grunts and sighs.”

Clare Brotherwood,

“Thanks to simple but effective stagecraft, a healthy dose of natural charisma and a real flairfor comic timing, Lighter than Air is an undoubted joy for all the family.”

The Scotsman  ****

“Daft physical comedy quickly proves a big hit with young folk and their parents. There are plenty of belly laughs….And it gets sillier with the performer taking a visual gag and stretching it almost to bursting point.”

The List  ****

“A joy from start to finish”

Mark Murphy, Flip Flop International Children’s Theatre Festival, Dublin, Ireland

“How anyone can be that funny with a few balloons and few words I’ll never know, but he is. This is just one of those shows you should borrow a child to come and see with. I’d be hard pressed to say which of you will enjoy it more!”

Pam Hardiman, Gulbenkian Theatre, Kent

“A resounding hit as part of The Lowry’s Big Family 10th Birthday Party, thanks to Danny Schlesinger’s remarkable performance bringing humour, charm and delight to an audience with such a wide age.”
